Instagram ad library alternatives

An Instagram ad library alternative is worth paying for if it keeps Instagram ads after they stop. Outside the EU, Meta’s library shows running ads only. For history with TikTok, Spytrend at $79. For advertiser depth, AdSpy at $149. For the cheapest paid Instagram, PowerAdSpy or BigSpy.

Where the Instagram ad library is, and what it keeps

There is no separate Instagram library. We checked what the Meta Ad Library shows for one brand on Instagram, and what an archive holds for the same brand, on October 14, 2026.

Instagram ads live in the Meta Ad Library, behind a platform filter. This is how we checked one brand, without logging in:

  1. Open facebook.com/ads/library and search for the brand’s page, here Gymshark.
  2. Set Platform to Instagram, the country to United States and Active status to active ads: about 630 results, each with the advertiser, start date and platforms.
  3. Switch the country to all countries and the status to all ads to bring back stopped ads that were shown in the EU in the past year.
  4. For stopped ads shown only outside the EU, use a paid archive: the library no longer has them.

facebook.com/ads/library, no login: Gymshark page, United States, Platform: Instagram, Active status: Active ads — “~630 results”; newest cards started running on Oct 1, 2026. October 14, 2026.

For running ads, the library and an archive roughly agree. The same slice in Spytrend, the Gymshark page on Instagram in the United States and active, returned 568 ads, with data complete through the day before.

The difference is everything that has stopped. Outside the EU the library drops a commercial ad once it stops running; ads shown in the EU are kept for a year after their last impression, which is why switching the library to all countries and all statuses brings stopped Gymshark ads back. The archive held 72,812 Gymshark ads shown on Instagram, stopped ones included, the oldest launched on April 28, 2025.

Why each one is on the list

The library already covers running Instagram ads for free, so each alternative is ranked by what it adds: history first, then advertiser depth, then the price of Instagram access.

Spytrend is first because it keeps Instagram ads after they stop. Instagram sits in the same archive as Facebook and TikTok on one $79 plan, and its free tier shows ads at least three months old. In our test of 20 Meta ads launched on 20 October, picked in Meta’s Ad Library before any tool was searched, it had 19 of 20 within two days. Its tiers are on spytrend.com/pricing.

AdSpy is the widest Facebook and Instagram tool by country reach. It publishes 213.7 million ads and 30.4 million advertisers across 225 countries, and searches ad comments and affiliate IDs, at $149 on a single plan with no free level. It covers Facebook and Instagram only. The plan is broken down in AdSpy pricing.

PowerAdSpy puts Instagram on its cheapest plan. Basic at $69 covers Facebook and Instagram, after a three-day trial that costs $1. More networks open on Standard, Platinum and Palladium, up to 11 at $399. The tiers are in PowerAdSpy pricing.

BigSpy opens Instagram one tier up from free. Its free plan covers Facebook only, and Instagram starts on Starter at $69 with Facebook and AppLovin. On the free plan BigSpy also masks advertiser names and domains. Its ladder is in BigSpy pricing.

Minea is on the list for one Instagram-shaped feature: influencer product placements. It lists Meta ads beside the products creators promote, from $49, which answers what to sell rather than what a rival runs. Its tiers are in Minea pricing.

What the library gives you that the alternatives do not

Before paying, it is worth knowing what the free library already does better.

It is first-party

The library is Meta’s own record of what is running, with a Library ID for each ad. Every tool here builds its own copy of it.

No account needed

Anyone can search it without logging in. BigSpy’s free plan needs an account and stopped after ten searches a day on ours, against the five it publishes.

Every advertiser named

The library shows the page behind every ad. BigSpy’s free plan masks names and domains with asterisks.

A year of EU history

Ads shown in the EU stay in the library for a year after their last impression, under the Digital Services Act.

Before you pay, check three thingsWhether you need ads that have stopped, because the library already shows running Instagram ads for free. Whether the markets you watch are in the EU, where the library keeps a year of history. And whether you need TikTok in the same plan, which costs from $79 to $399 depending on the tool.

Questions

What is the best Instagram ad library alternative?

For Instagram history, Spytrend: in our Gymshark query it held 72,812 ads shown on Instagram, stopped ones included, where Meta’s library showed about 630 running US ads. For advertiser depth, AdSpy at $149. For the cheapest paid Instagram access, PowerAdSpy or BigSpy at $69.

Is there an Instagram ad library?

Not a separate one. Instagram ads sit in the Meta Ad Library, filtered by Platform: Instagram, free and without an account. It shows each advertiser and start date, but outside the EU only running ads; paid archives keep them after they stop.

Can I see old Instagram ads?

In the Meta Ad Library, only if they were shown in the EU: those are kept for a year after their last impression. Ads shown elsewhere disappear when they stop, so for those you need one of the paid tools in the table, which keep stopped ads.

Which Instagram ad library alternatives are free?

Two give you something for nothing. The Meta Ad Library itself is free, and Spytrend has a free tier for ads at least three months old. BigSpy’s free plan opens Facebook only, and PowerAdSpy offers a $1 trial rather than a free plan.

How do I find all Instagram ads of one brand?

Open the brand’s page in the Meta Ad Library, set Platform to Instagram and pick a country: for Gymshark in the United States that gave about 630 active ads. Switch to all countries and all statuses to bring back stopped ads shown in the EU during the past year; anything older needs a paid archive.
